Goshen Community Schools Welcomes Carrie Garber as New Principal of West Goshen Elementary

Goshen Community Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Carrie Garber as the next
principal of West Goshen Elementary School, effective July 21, 2025. The GCS School Board of
Trustees approved her selection at their June 9 meeting.
Garber brings a wealth of experience and a heart deeply connected to the Goshen community. After
beginning her teaching career in 1997 at Riverdale Elementary, she spent 24 years with Goshen
Community Schools, with the majority of that time serving students and families at West Goshen
Elementary. Her roles have included classroom teacher, literacy coach, mentor teacher, and master
teacher, as well as a Teacher on Special Assignment.
Most recently, Garber has served as principal of Ox Bow Elementary in Concord Community
Schools, where she has led with vision, compassion, and a strong focus on student growth.
“I am incredibly excited to return to West Goshen, a place that has always felt like home,” said
Garber. “Leading this school is an honor, and I look forward to building on its strong foundation of
community, care, and excellence. My vision is to create a nurturing environment where every student
feels seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.”
Garber holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Taylor University, a master’s in
education from Indiana Wesleyan University, and completed her Principal Licensure Program in
2020. Her extensive background in curriculum, coaching, and leadership reflects her commitment to
academic excellence and student-centered learning.
Goshen Community Schools looks forward to welcoming Garber as she begins her new role later this
summer.
