Goshen High School Unveils New Certified Nursing Assistant Pathway

Goshen High School (GHS) is excited to announce the ribbon-cutting ceremony for
our new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Pathway at the Chandler Education Center
on Friday, Sept. 27th, at 10:30 a.m. This program offers students an exceptional
opportunity to gain valuable skills, earn college credits, and open doors to rewarding careers
in healthcare.
The new CNA pathway is designed for students who want to start building a successful
career in healthcare while still in high school. Our rigorous Career and Technical Education
(CTE) classes equip students with the knowledge, skills, and real-world experience to thrive
in a wide range of high-demand, high-wage careers.
Through GHS coursework and Ivy Tech classes, students can earn college credit in courses
like Introduction to Healthcare, CPR, Medical Terminology, Essential Anatomy & Physiology,
and CNA Training Preparation. Taught both semesters by Ms. Rebecca Hulse during GHS
periods 1-3, this pathway fully prepares students to sit for the state’s CNA certification exam.
Upon passing, students are ready to enter meaningful roles in healthcare facilities, home
healthcare, and specialized care settings.
Beyond the traditional CNA role, students will develop a wide range of skills—basic nursing
skills, patient care techniques, and emergency procedures—that will prepare them for future
success in various healthcare careers. Clinical rotations at Greencroft during the second
semester offer invaluable hands-on experience in real healthcare environments.
Training as a CNA allows students to make a meaningful difference in patient's lives and
provides a solid foundation for advancing into other healthcare professions. Whether
students pursue roles as Registered Nurses, Physical Therapy Aides, or Medical Assistants,
the CNA license is the first step toward a bright future.
Join us in celebrating the launch of this exciting program and encourage students to take
advantage of this opportunity to jumpstart their healthcare careers while still in high school!
