Goshen Community Schools Launches Summer Improvement Projects Across the District

Goshen, IN – While students begin their summer break, crews across Goshen Community Schools are getting to work on one of the district's busiest summers of facility improvements in recent years.
Beginning June 1, dozens of maintenance, renovation, and infrastructure projects will take place across the district to improve learning environments, enhance safety, modernize facilities, and prepare buildings for the 2026-27 school year.
The projects this summer include:
Goshen High School
· New roof over Choir and Industrial Technology (pictured)
· Wrestling room new air handler
· Main Gym Floor sanding and recoating
· Wallpaper removal and paint 5 classrooms
· Wallpaper removal in the hallway by daycare
· Band hallway flooring
· Bathroom remodel Whiteman
· Fence replacement around the west end of Football
· Fencing under the bleachers for athletic storage
Goshen Junior High
· 3 Roof sections replaced
· 3 Air handlers and 60 spaces and digital controls upgrade
· South parking lot rebuild
· New ice machine for athletics
· Concrete sidewalk repairs
· Phone box removed and repaired
· Wayfaring signage inside and outside
· Door replacement for stage and choir
· Office -conference room furniture
Goshen Intermediate
· Hand dryers blow off panels
· Mirrors for bathrooms
· Art room sound panels
· Disc golf
· Wayfaring signage inside and outside
Chandler
· Paint the (gym) wood shop walls three colors
· Paint the hallway on the second floor
· Carpet the hallway on the first floor
· New glass doors to the shop area
· New display windows to the north classroom
· New carpet in the two classrooms 118, 120
· New countertops in 4 classrooms
· Remove old art sinks and countertops, and replace with clinical sinks
· Phone boxes removed and repaired
· Wayfaring signage
Chamberlain
· Retaining wall drainage
· Brick knee wall tuck point
· Playground structure for preschool
Parkside
· Replace the failed chiller
· Brick repair on the west wall
Prairie View
· Remove the knee wall in two classrooms and replace the carpet
· Desk / Chairs
· Benches for the playground
Waterford
· Paint the hallways
· Carpet 5 rooms

· Sidewalk to playground replaced

"Our facilities team works year-round to maintain our buildings, but summer provides an opportunity to tackle larger projects that have a direct impact on our students and staff," said Director of Facilities Don Ritter. "We're excited to invest in our schools and continue creating learning environments that support student success."
Many of the projects are expected to be completed before students return in August, ensuring schools are ready to welcome students back for another successful year.
